Success Story - Leanne
My name is Leanne and I’ve been struggling with my weight since middle school. I was always told that I carried my weight well and that I never looked as heavy as I knew I was. I was never really motivated to lose weight or to get healthier. In reality, it actually motivated me to accept my weight and eventually I started gaining. At the end of the day, I settled. In November of 2014, I maxed out at 260 pounds and I knew I wasn’t comfortable with myself. I needed help and the only thing that has worked for me in the past was to have an accountability partner and coach. Christina is that partner for me.
SUCCESS
EVOLVE WINNIPEG has been that someone who has taught and helped me stay on track to achieving my goals.
A Healthier Lifestyle
Christina has taught me what needs to be done to lose weight but to also enjoy some indulgences in life! It’s all about balance. She coaches me before big events, whether it’s a friend’s birthday party weekend or an upcoming Christmas party. We come up with a plan of action to attack food without going overboard and to adjust my exercise regiment if needed. Christina’s belief is a realistic one. Her philosophy is not based just on restricting your calories and depriving your body. The programs that she creates focus on longevity. The best part of what Christina does is that she helps you learn how to eat normally and healthily so that you don’t feel like you are missing out or not enjoying life. This is a lifestyle change that will stand the test of time.
Christina has an infectious personality that is impossible not to like. She is positive, energetic and honest. She can be gentle with you if that’s what you need or she can be blunt if that’s what you need to motivate you. I can appreciate that Christina has struggled with weight herself. It gives her a better perspective because she’s been there too! She is very hands on and will text you a reminder when you need it. She will also encourages you to text or call if you have a question, need support or just need someone to tell you “NO” when you’re eyeing up something you know you shouldn’t have. It is great knowing that there is someone in your corner really cheering you on and wanting the best for you. She takes enjoyment watching her clients succeed because she cares! She has become a friend.
If you are on the fence and not sure if you should give her a call and start your weight loss journey, I say go for it! What do you have to lose? Except maybe some weight of course! 🙂
Why I Want to Keep The Weight off For Good
1. Self respect
When I binge and go overboard, I’m just hurting myself. I don’t deserve to be disrespected by anyone. I stand up for others when I see disrespect happening and yet I don’t stand up for myself? I am worth respecting and I have to protect myself. I shouldn’t allow indulgences and a “quick fix” to run my life. I’m worth more than a bag of movie popcorn or a plate of nachos. I am a beautiful creation of God and I need to treat myself as such.
2. Vanity
Who doesn’t like to look good? I like being able to go into a store and have every article of clothing be an option for me. I enjoy not having to worry if the store carries my size or if everything will be too small. I want to shop anywhere without feeling embarrassed about my size. I like not having to reach for the size at the far back because I know I only fit their largest size.
3.Health
I want to live long. I don’t want to die young. I know being healthy will give me many more years to enjoy. I know keeping up my cardio and weight lifting will prevent serious problems in years to follow.
4. Respect of those around me
My husband wants me to be around for a long time. My family (parents and siblings) also want what’s best for me. They are happy when they see a healthy Leanne. They are also encouraged in their own journeys when they see a healthier me. We encourage each other. I need to be healthy to set an example and I need to be healthy and fit to show them that I love them.
5. Self Confidence
I know when I was 260 pounds, I could never live up to my full potential. I felt like I wanted to stay indoors and never leave my home. I wanted to sit on the couch and be lazy and avoid events because I never had anything to wear. Being a healthy person allows me to be confident in who I am. It allows me to be able to do anything I set my mind to. Working out and being active is good for the mind and allows me to relieve stress. There is nothing better than the feeling you get after a good workout. It gives you a sense of accomplishment every day you finish. I know I am more myself when I am focused on health and I know I enjoy going out more when I feel like I’m rocking the outfit I have on.
I’m done disrespecting myself. I’m done feeling ugly. I’m done digging myself into an early grave. I’m done disregarding the loving support and encouragement from friends and family. I’m done feeling apologetic for my appearance and who I am.
I am ready to be a complete person. I’m ready to live up to my full potential. I’m ready to enjoy life and all it has to offer. Life is a beautifully wrapped gift and I’m enjoying the process of unwrapping it. A gift isn’t as much fun when you just look at it and never peel away the paper.
